Hi,

My name is Barbara McCarthy, and I am the Library Media Specialist at Benjamin Banneker Academy. Currently I am here on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. On Thursdays and Fridays, I am at Garvin Elementary.

I am originally from Ireland, but have been living in the U.S. for many years now. I have been a Library Media Specialist since 2013. Prior to that, I taught Technology and typing classes.

I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Georgia Southern University, and a Master’s degree in Education from Seton Hall University.

When I’m not working, I like to travel, hike, kayak, work in my garden, and ride my bicycle. I also volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and the Scouting movement. If I’m not doing any of those things, then I’m probably reading…
